In John’s epistle, John says you cannot love God whom you have not seen if you do not love you brother who you have seen. Love for God is most acutely expressed in our overflowing love for our neighbor. We cannot love though with our own strength. Our ability to love is lacking, but when we realized that it was first Him who loved us, we are able to live from His love in all of life. This love is that which compels us to care deeply for those around us, those whole or broken. Living within this love is the highest call of the Christian life.
